Designed for use with ProDigits and the new i-LIMB Pulse, Touch Bionics' unique BioSim software allows the devices to be connected via Bluetooth® to a PC while the wearer is actively using their device.

With plug and play auto recognition, BioSim's Bluetooth communication is established via a PC USB connecter from Touch Bionics.

BioSim is available in three different versions:

• BioSim Professional – for Accredited i-LIMB Practitioners that have completed BioSim training
• BioSim Basic – for Accredited i-LIMB Practitioners that have not completed BioSim training
• MyBioSim – for i-LIMB Pulse and ProDigits users

BioSim Professional is a complete software toolset that allows clinical practitioners to customise the i-LIMB Pulse and ProDigits to the specific needs of the user.

BioSim Professional allows real-time assessment of users' myoelectric impulses with the ability to adjust gain and threshold settings, selection of control strategies, and enabling and disabling of features and grips, including the pulsing gripping effect.

The software provides statistical analysis and documentation of the device wearer's usage patterns, designed to improve patient outcomes and training, and also allows diagnostics to be run on the device, digit by digit.

BioSim Basic is a limited version of BioSim Professional, which allows prosthetists to select features and access some limited information on usage data.

MyBioSim represents another world-first from Touch Bionics – a user-based version of its BioSim software, providing users with the ability to select the features that are most useful to their specific day-to-day circumstances. Users can use MyBioSim with their own home PC or laptop to change the i-LIMB Pulse's grip patterns to their own preference – with no need to return to their prosthetist for these alterations.

For the first time, users are empowered to make the most of their prosthetic device by exploring its software capabilities by themselves.
