14 April 2009 - Touch Bionics expands operations in North America

New facilities to drive increased production and customer support

Livingston, Scotland – April 14, 2009 – Touch Bionics, developer of the world’s first multi-articulating bionic hand, today announced its expansion into new facilities in the states of Ohio and New York, USA. With exceptional growth in North America over the past year, Touch Bionics continues to expand both its product lines and services to customers.

Touch Bionics will relocate its wholesale offices to Hilliard, Ohio. The new 5,600 square foot location in central Ohio will house the customer care, finance, RACE Team (Reimbursement Assistance and Clinical Evaluation), sales and marketing functions as well as the finished goods inventory for both the i-LIMB Hand and LIVINGSKIN products.

In addition to the new location in Ohio, Touch Bionics is also expanding its LIVINGSKIN production operations in New York. The LIVINGSKIN manufacturing facility will move into a 7,500 square foot facility in Bloomingburg, New York. “Our new production location will allow us to dramatically increase our LIVINGSKIN production capabilities to respond to increasing customer demand for both passive prosthetics and high definition coverings for the i-LIMB Hand.” said Mark Ford, Director of US Sales & Marketing.

“Touch Bionics has continued to significantly expand its commitment to North American customers over the past year,” commented Stuart Mead, CEO of Touch Bionics. “Our purchase of LIVINGSKIN last spring has already provided enormous benefit to our operation through both product improvements and greatly enhanced customer support. The investments into these new facilities in Ohio and New York is a demonstration of our long term growth plans and investment into people and product development.” he continued.

Touch Bionics will begin to serve customers from their new wholesale offices in Ohio effective 01 June 2009 via the current, toll free phone number of 800.208.7546.
