Touch Bionics announces further improvements to i-limb product range at AOPA

Touch Bionics, a provider of world-leading prosthetic technologies, announced today that the company will reveal improvements to its i-limb product range at the American Orthotic & Prosthetic Association (AOPA) National Assembly taking place on September 17-21 in Orlando, FL.

The company will continue to showcase the i-limb ultra revolution, the latest version of its flagship prosthetic hand solution, and the most advanced technology of its kind available to upper limb amputees. The i-limb ultra revolution provides unparalleled dexterity, control and ease of use. It features a powered rotating thumb, 24 grip options, extra sensitive electrodes, and is the only upper limb prosthesis that can be controlled using a mobile application.

Key developments to the company's proprietary software and mobile apps will be introduced at AOPA. The updates will include:

  • my i-limb mobile app- available on the Apple App store and offering all wearers of full or partial hand i-limb solutions the flexibility to customize their prosthesis.
  • biosim mobile app- available on the Apple App store and allowing the clinician to program their patient's i-limb prosthesis using a compatible mobile device.

"We are pleased to introduce these product improvements at AOPA," said Ian Stevens, CEO of Touch Bionics. "Using my i-limb and and biosim, the patient or prosthetist respectively can connect wirelessly from their handheld device and easily operate all of the features of the entire i-limb product range, which includes i-limb ultra revolution, i-limb ultra, i-limb digits and virtu-limb. We believe that these enhancements demonstrate the company's continued commitment to delivering innovative technologies to clinicians and their patients."

The i-limb ultra revolution is available with a wide variety of wrist options including quick wrist disconnect, flex wrist, and multiflex wrist, allowing prosthetists to choose the most appropriate option to maximize their patient's ability to utilize the i-limb ultra revolution in their activities of daily living. Touch Bionics also offers a wide range of electrode choices for the i-limb devices, including new remote electrodes with gold-plated contacts enabling increased sensitivity and improved control.

Touch Bionics will be located at booth #1010 where attendees can learn more about the range of products and services available.
