Crawford Gillies, Chairman of Scottish Enterprise, Chairman Elect of Control Risks Group Holdings Ltd, Chairman of Hammonds LLP, the international law firm, Touch Bionics Ltd, a fast growing Scottish based life sciences company, and a Non-Executive Director of Standard Life Plc.
After graduating with an LL.B. (Hons) from Edinburgh (1977) and an MBA at Harvard Business School (1983), Crawford Gillies joined Bain, the international management consultants and became a partner in 1988. He has worked with clients throughout Europe in a wide variety of sectors on issues of strategy, organisation and performance improvement.
From 1996 to 2001 he was responsible for Bain & Company's business in the UK and assumed leadership of the firm's European business from 2001 until he stepped down at the end of 2005. He remained an advisor until early 2009.
He was an independent member of the DTI's Management Board and Strategy Board from 2002 to 2007, and chaired the DTI's Audit and Risk Committee from 2003 to 2007. He is a former Chairman of CBI London.
Chief Executive, Stuart Mead
Stuart Mead is Touch Bionics' Chief Executive Officer. He has a 23-year history in biotech industries and is experienced in sales and marketing. He has been a senior manager in both Kodak Clinical Diagnostics and Johnson and Johnson and was CEO of biopharmaceuticals manufacturer Excell Biotech. He has been responsible for not only their sales and marketing operations but also supply, distribution and service.
Chief Financial Officer, Martin Reynard
Martin Reynard joined Touch Bionics as Chief Financial Officer in March 2008. He has a strong track record in the financial and general management of growth technology companies including fund raising and development. Previous positions include Chief Financial Officer of Pelamis Waver Power and General manager of Border Biofuels. He has an MBA from University of Edinburgh Management School and a PhD from studies undertaken at the Roslin Institute.
Director of Marketing, Phil Newman
Phil has worked for over 20 years in business development and marketing for international IT & Telecoms, Healthcare and Financial Services companies such as Mitsubishi Electric, Cisco, Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein and Motorola whilst creating European market entry strategies for emerging US technology businesses. He has extensive experience of sales, marketing and business development in Europe and in the US. During his career Phil has continually pursued entrepreneurial opportunities and has secured funding and key reference customer contracts for a significant number of fast growth companies.
Vice President of North American Operations, Mark Ford
Mark has served as a leader in the prosthetics industry for over 9 years as the VP of North American Operations and the Director of CAD/CAM for Ohio Willow Wood. During this time, he led the sales force, the customer training team, the customer service group, oversaw the activities of three international offices and guided the development of the OMEGA Tracer program. Prior to his move into the prosthetics industry, he served as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for a rapidly growing, regional agricultural company in the States.
Director of Technology and Operations, Hugh Gill
Hugh Gill is Touch Bionics Director of Technology and Operations. He has over 30 years experience in high technology companies in Product Design and Manufacturing. He has been a Program Manager for Polaroid and was Technical and Operations Director for Wideblue. In this role he supporting a significant amount of high growth companies taking their technology from concept into development, supply chain and manufacturing.
Director of International Business, Gaurav Mishra
Gaurav Mishra is Touch Bionics Director of International Business Development. He has over 10 years senior management experience in diverse backgrounds including Fighter Pilot in the Air Force. He has extensive experience of developing international business for high tech start-up companies, successfully setting up and managing relationships with channel partners in more than 30 countries across 6 continents. He received a MBA from University of Edinburgh Management School specialising in International Business and B2B Marketing, Masters Diploma in Business Studies from IIMM India and BA from Jawahar Lal Nehru University of Delhi.
Director of Clinical Services, Thomas Passero
An American Board Certified Prosthetist, Tom brings more than 30 years of experience to his role as Director of Clinical Services. He received his training in prosthetics at NorthwesternUniversityMedicalSchool’s Prosthetic and OrthoticCenter in Chicago. Following a period of residency, he eventually served as Senior Staff Prosthetist in New York’s HelenHayesHospitalCenter for Rehab Technology. Tom entered private practice in 1989, as President and Clinical Director of Prosthetic and Orthotic Associates International, headquartered in MiddletownNew York. As his interest in upper extremity prosthetics grew, he introduced LIVINGSKIN to the prosthetic services community in 1998. <<
