Ian Stevens

Chief Executive Officer

Ian joined Touch Bionics in May 2011 from surgical medical device company Mpathy Medical where he had been CEO since 2007.  Between 1998 and 2007 he was employed by Optos plc, a medical technology company specializing in the imaging of the retina, firstly in the roles of CFO in Dunfermline, UK, and then from 2003 as General Manager, North America in Boston, USA. Ian is a chartered accountant who had previously worked for KPMG in both Oxford, UK and Prague, Czech Republic. Ian holds a Masters degree in Economics from Edinburgh University.

Jill McGregor

Chief Financial Officer

Jill joined Touch Bionics after spending over six years with Optos, a medical technology company specializing in devices that image the retina, where she was Group Financial Controller and then Vice President and Director of Finance. Between 2000 and 2004, Jill was Financial Controller at Spider Software, a subsidiary of Artesyn Technologies Inc. After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, Jill spent eight years in London in various roles including Finance Manager at Wincanton and Commercial Analyst at Courage before moving to Singapore as Shared Service Centre Manager at Unisys.

Caroline Stretton

Vice President Operations, International

Caroline has twenty years experience in the Medical Device and Pharmaceutical Industries.  Prior to joining Touch Bionics, she was a  member of the Executive leadership team at Ocutec, an ocular science company specializing in the development of innovative contact lens materials and manufacturing processes. Caroline previously worked for Mpathy Medical Devices, Metris Therapeutics and Ivax Pharmaceuticals in a variety of roles including Operations Director, Quality & Regulatory Affairs Director and New Products Programme Manager. Caroline holds an honours degree and PhD in Pure and Applied Chemistry from the University of Strathclyde. 

Hugh Gill

Chief Technical Officer

Hugh has over 35 years experience in high technology companies in Product Design and Manufacturing. He has been a Program Manager for Polaroid and was Technical and Operations Director for Wideblue. In this role he supported a significant number of high growth companies taking their technology from concept into development, supply chain and manufacturing. Hugh graduated at Strathclyde University with a BSc with Honors in Mechanical Engineering and also has 12 patents. Hugh's product portfolio has been Tunnelling Machines, Wind Turbines, High Speed Imaging banking systems, Cameras, Printers, Machine Tools, Human Tissue Drug testing machines and Industrial cleaning machines.

Karen Miller Gillis

General Manager, North America

Karen brings over 17 years of sales and marketing experience in the medical device industry. She served as General Manager and Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Michelson Diagnostics and prior to that as Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Mpathy Medical. Karen worked at Optos from 1999 to 2008, where she held positions as Director of Marketing and Director of National Accounts. Prior to Optos, she worked for Haemonetics Corporation, firstly as a Business Analyst and latterly as Surgical Product Manager. Karen holds a Bachelors degree in Business Economics from Brown University.

Melissa Peloquin

Vice President Operations, North America

Melissa comes to Touch Bionics with 12 years experience working in the medical devices sector. She has experience with companies ranging across the optometry/ophthalmology, women's heath and skin cancer detection sectors. Melissa has worked with companies including Optos, Mpathy Medical and Michelson Diagnostics, and has held roles including Human Resources Manager, Director HR & Administration and Director of Operations. She has led teams in Human Resources, Central Operations and Customer Support and is registered as a Certified Professional in Human Resources by the Human Resources Certification Institute.

Alan Short

Chief Manufacturing Officer

Previous to joining the Touch Bionics team, Alan was Director of Manufacturing at Mpathy Medical Devices where he had been since 2007. Alan brings with him over 18 years of experience in operational management, regulatory affairs, supply chain management and business strategy development in the healthcare and high technology industries. Alan's previous roles include Director of Quality & Regulatory Affairs at Omega Critical Care specializing in cardiac monitoring equipment, Quality Manager at Optos PLC, specializing in Retinal Imaging Equipment. Alan holds an honours degree in Engineering with Management from Napier University.
